The Raw Files are a classic rock band from Adelaide, South Australia, built on a passion for real instruments, powerful vocals, and the timeless spirit of guitar-driven rock.
The band is led by Robert Monteleone, a long-time Adelaide musician and ex music teacher whose roots in the local music scene stretch back to the vibrant pub-rock era of the 1980s. During that time Robert performed across Adelaide’s well-known live venues with a number of rock bands, including Conflict, Threshold, and Snapshot. Like many musicians of that era, the Adelaide pub circuit was more than just a place to play — it was a proving ground where bands learned their craft, built loyal audiences, and developed a sound that could only come from playing loud and live.
Drawing on decades of musical experience, The Raw Files aim to capture the raw energy and authenticity that defined the great rock records of the past. Their sound is rooted firmly in classic rock traditions, combining gutsy vocals with driving guitars, solid bass lines, pounding drums and the rich textures of keyboards. The result is a band that values musicianship, strong song writing and the kind of honest rock sound that never goes out of style.
The Raw Files are currently recording their debut independent album, a collection of around twelve original tracks that proudly stay true to the band’s philosophy: real songs, real instruments, and no compromises. These are not carefully polished pop singles designed for background listening — they are radio-unfriendly 'raw' rock tracks that demand to be played loud.
The upcoming album captures the spirit of classic rock while bringing a fresh edge shaped by decades of musical influence. Each track reflects the band’s belief that rock music should be energetic, memorable and unapologetically powerful.
More details about the album, upcoming releases and future plans will be announced soon.
In the meantime, turn it up — because The Raw Files were never meant to be played quietly.
